Yip Yip Yip, 2022

Grey Fox,
at Courtyard by Marriott Petaluma, 
is a homage to Petaluma’s Grey Fox population.

The Grey Fox is about 12 to 16 inches tall and weighs about 10 lbs. They have a slender legs and long tails.

Our sculptural Fox, by contrast, is 11 feet tall. Made of 5/8” steel plate and weighs about 3500 lbs.

Symbolically, the fox appears in the folklore of many cultures as a figure of cunning or trickery, or as a familiar animal possessed of magic powers.

The Fox is emblematic of magic and is a quintessential symbol of luck.
