Matthew Henson Hope Gardens, '10

Hope Gardens. a public art project of gates, fences and shade for a community garden at the Matthew Henson / HOPE VI Housing Community in South Central Phoenix. The project was designed and created by Arizona artists John Randall Nelson and Joe Willie Smith. Drawing on a shared passion for renewing the old, the artists used cast concrete posts and steel forged from recycled garden tools.
